2018 - 2019 3rd/4th Grade Science

Students creations of their new animal
The students learned all about pumpkins. They have learned the internal and external parts of the pumpkin. They have also learned that the size of the pumpkin does not matter that even a small pumpkin can have a lot of seeds. It matters how many rids(lines) on a pumpkin, the darkness of the pumpkin, and how long it is on a vine. We read a story all about one class that learned this lesson and then created our own pumpkins to take home!
The 3rd/4th are currently learning about plant and animal structures. They are learning what internal and external structures mean and how they help both animals and plants.
The 3rd/4th graders are now learning about their senses. They participated in a lab where they had to smell different sent to determine what it might be and does it remind them of anything. They learned that our sense send messages to our brain.
