Meet our new First Grade Teacher ~Ms. Gabloff!

-I grew up in southern Maine and have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I love dancing and learning foreign languages. I am currently almost fluent in Spanish and am about to start exploring other languages as well. I teach toddler ballet classes and adult hip hop.
"Education"
-I went to a small STEM school for high school and pursued my degree in education at the University of Maine at Farmington. I later transferred to the University of Maine at Augusta to finish my degree. I am interested in pursuing a master's degree in either school leadership or in foreign language instruction once I have settled into my new role as a first grade teacher.
"Teaching Philosophy"
-I believe strongly in learning through play, logical consequences, routines and relationship building.
"A hope or dream for this coming school year".I hope to establish routines and procedures that allow for a fun and safe classroom environment where we can effectively learn through play and have fun while learning.

"I have been an educator for over thirty years and I am in my happy place when kids are around! I live in Franklin and consider it a privilege to teach in this community. I love to read, plan fun events for the kids in my life, and find treasures as I walk on the beach. We all have a different role in this world we live in, and it's my goal as a teacher to help the students I work with find their unique ways as learners and to reach milestones that make them proud of their hard work. This is not always an easy task, and I fall back on my life motto when my methods are not working and it's time to switch things up: "Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape!" I look forward to meeting all of you and being a part of your Cave Hill School community."
