Excellent Attendance is a good habit to get into!

Almost 10,000 public schools across the United States - or 11 percent of the total - have chronic absence rates that affect 30 percent or more of their students. A new report by Attendance Works and the Everyone Graduates Center provides a national and state analysis of how many schools face these high levels of chronic absence, and shares Portraits of initiatives that show how chronic absence can be turned around, even when it reaches high levels in a school, district or particular student population. http://bit.ly/2xztw5O

Thousands still qualify for MaineCare but are uninsured. Did you know more than half of your uninsured students are likely to be eligible for free or low cost health coverage? The Connecting Kids to Coverage Project helps families with the MaineCare application process - free of charge. This project is funded by the federal government and includes local partners at non-profit organizations around the state.

With MaineCare, kids can get well-child visits, dental exams, prescriptions, vaccinations, vision tests, some school-based services, and other medical care. And as you well know, healthy kids do better in school.

Staff Opening Day August 23, 2017

Please find attached, the opening day agenda. The day will start at 7:45 with the first session starting promptly at 8:15 in the Mountain View gymnasium. Although there is parking at the school, we will be providing a bus to better handle the number of cars/people that will attend on this day. The bus will leave Sumner Memorial High School at 7:30 and will then go to the District Services Facility shortly after. If you want to park at either facility and take advantage of the transportation, please feel free to do so. Return transportation will be provided. A light breakfast and your lunch will be provided.
