Welcome to Third Grade!
2025–2026 School Year

Dear Families,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! I am truly looking forward to having your child as a student. Third grade is a special and exciting year filled with meaningful learning experiences, personal growth, and memorable celebrations.

My most important goal this year is to create a strong, supportive classroom community, a true family of learners. In our classroom, every child will be seen, heard, and valued. I am committed to building a positive, respectful environment where students feel safe, trusted, and confident to take risks and grow.

A strong part of this classroom vision is supported by our schoolwide PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework. In our class, we proudly ROAR by showing Respect, Ownership, Attitude, and Responsibility/Safety in all we do. These core values are reinforced daily through discussions, modeling, and recognition of positive choices. Students will have opportunities to earn individual and class incentives, participate in PBIS celebrations, and be recognized for demonstrating strong character and leadership. To help bring our PBIS values to life, we also have a special classroom mascot, Roary the Bear! Each week, Roary will be looking for third graders who are practicing their best ROAR behavior. One student will be chosen to bring Roary home for the weekend as a celebration of their positive choices and leadership in our classroom community.

To support our PBIS goals, I have designed activities that not only build academic skills but also strengthen social-emotional learning and community. These efforts are most impactful when practiced at home as well, and I truly value the partnership we will share in helping your child succeed and grow throughout the year.
