On May 16th during the school day, grades 7-12 in the RSU 24 will be listening to presenter, John Halligan. That evening at 6:00 PM he is offering a presentation, “If I Could Have a Do-Over”, specifically for parents and community that will be held in the Sumner Memorial High School cafeteria. He will relay his own tragic experience as a dad whose 13 year old son took his own life in 2003. His story is riveting and powerful and addresses bullying both in school and on line and talks about mental health and depression as factors that contributed to his son’s vulnerability and ultimate suicide. Parents will be empowered with strategies to take preventive actions with their own children. We are opening this evening event to all interested parents and community members.
