Professional Experience: My first teaching experience was in 2008 as a volunteer in the town of Bagamoyo, Tanzania, where I taught English to preschool-aged children. My professional career began in 2011 at the Presumpscot School in Portland, Maine, where I was a student teacher in a 2nd grade classroom. In the spring of 2012 I student taught again, this time in a 4th grade classroom at the Dora L. Small School in South Portland. Almost immediately after I completed my student teaching, I accepted a long-term substitute position for a 5th grade teacher at the Small School for the remainder of the school year. In August 2012 I was a teacher intern at Chadwick International School in Songdo, South Korea and supported classroom teachers who taught 3rd and 1st grade. I returned to the states and to the Small School in December 2013, where I worked one-on-one and in small groups with students in math and reading as an RTI interventionist. I am ecstatic to be teaching kindergarten this year at Cave Hill. Go Bears!
