Pre-K 2023-2024

Hello Pre-K class, my name is Miss. J!

This will be my second year teaching Pre-K. I went to college for Baking and Pastry Arts at Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island from 2016-2018. I moved to Washington State in 2018 to work for a bakery in Seattle. I lived there for almost 4 years. During this time I decided to go back to school for Early Childhood Education. I am currently still continuing my education! I love baking, reading, knitting and crocheting, hiking, and kayaking. I have a dog Bosco and a cat Ivo. I can't wait to meet everyone!

Class List:

* A spare change of clothes, in a Ziploc bag labeled, that will stay at school in their cubbies.

* Backpack (big enough to carry a 1-inch, 3-ring binder.)

* Labeled water bottle. This will be returned every Friday to be washed!

* One or two family photos, 4X6 (Can be printed off a computer)

The goal is to create a family photo wall in the classroom. This will help those who really miss their family during the school day, and give your child a sense of belonging in a new space!

* Snow gear of ski pants, boots, hat, and extra mittens once the weather turns cold with a change of shoes and socks.

* One stuffed animal can be brought as well :)

* Classroom donations such as prepackaged snacks, plastic bags, paper plates or cups

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns!

See you all very soon!
~ Miss. J

In Pre-K we are using the Second Step Early Learning program. The purpose of this program is to help students develop their social and emotional development skills and prepare them for kindergarten through puppets, stories, music, and play. Our boy puppet's name is Sam and our girl puppet's name is Jane. I have included all of the "Home Links" that I will also send home in your child's BEAR binders every week. Using these home links will encourage your child to reflect and remember what they have learned this week.
