Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year

I'm excited to begin my second year in fourth grade at Cave Hill. I'm looking forward to a great year.

 

I've been working on some exciting projects that we will be doing this year, several will be with the 5th grade.  In Science we will be exploring what a Watershed is and how erosion plays a part. We will also learn about how the Grand Canyon was formed and I'm excited to add my personal experiences from visiting the canyon this summer. 

 

In Arts and Letters we will explore the heart both literally and figuratively.  We will also learn about Greek Mythology and Gods and Goddesses.  In Fourth grade we do a lot of writing, we continue the process of writing and editing throughout the year. 

 

In Math we will spend a lot of time learning our multiplication facts, place value, long division and fractions. With our new program Eureka Squared, it makes math easier to understand and students last year really enjoyed the program.

 

In Social Studies we will learn about the branches of our government, at both the state and federal level. We will visit our capital building along with the State Museum, and tour local agencies.  We will continue to learn about the Wabanaki People of Maine, learning about their culture, language and advocacy.
